Grade Checks

1.

Initial eligibility to start the season is as follows:

  • Fall - based on the previous semester grade (S2).

    • Please note: all freshman athletes begin the season academically eligible for fall sports.

  • Winter - based on the posted quarter grade of the current semester (Q1).

  • Spring - based on the previous semester grade (S1).

If the student starts the season academically ineligible, they cannot travel or play in games/contest until the next grade check.

2.

From the first official grade check of the season, the student will either be deemed  a traditional or non-traditional status.

  • Traditional students have no F's and above a 2.0 gpa at the official grade check. They are cleared to play for the next three weeks until the next official grade check.

  • Non-Traditional students had a failing grade or less than a 2.0 GPA.

    • Non-traditional students will have ONE WEEK to get their grades in good standing.

    • If at the end of the week, they are not in good standing, they will not be able to travel to or play in any game/conest until the next official grade check.

    • If they are still academically ineligible at the official grade check, they have an automatic three week suspension from sports (travel or play).

      • This is with the exception of those students that begin the season non-traditional.

    • If at the next official grade check, they are still academically ineligible, they are removed from the roster and are unable to participate in a sport for the current season.

If a student is academically ineligible at initial eligibility for the season and still failing or has less than a 2.0 GPA at the first official grade check, they will be removed from the roster and unable to participate in a sport for the current season.

This cycle repeats for traditional/non-traditional approximately every three weeks. See schedule below.

Managers are held to the same academic standard.
